The methodological support for improving the efficiency of the use of budget funds in the framework of state support to domestic agricultural producers is considered. It is proposed to expand the system of criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of the use of state support funds both at the regional level and at the level of individual entrepreneurs. The calculations of indicators on the example of the Orenburg region are given. The approach to the distribution of subsidies between regions, linking the amount of state support to the fulfillment of certain conditions and obligations by agricultural producers, is aimed at increasing attention to ensuring favorable conditions for the development of agriculture in Russia at the state level and to justify the amounts of budget expenditures for the implementation of programs.
