The purpose of the study is to assess the state support of agricultural production in the Altai Territory and its impact on the efficiency of agricultural enterprises in the region. The state program for the development of agriculture has been implemented in the region for a long time, the main purpose of which was to increase the competitiveness of agricultural production. Over the past 15 years, the program has undergone significant transformation processes, but nevertheless, it has been proven to increase the efficiency of agricultural enterprises that are recipients of budget subsidies, both within the production types of agricultural enterprises (the level of profitability of production increased by 25 percentage points in the grain production type) and in the context of natural and climatic zones of the region (profit from sales per 1 ha of arable land in the area with SCC-1,2 increased by more than 2 thousand rubles.). In modern conditions, the provision of budgetary funds is carried out in two directions, firstly, to stimulate priority sectors of agricultural production, the main of which are grain farming, as well as dairy and beef cattle breeding, and secondly, to reimburse part of the costs and maintain the profitability of agricultural producers in the event of an unfavorable combination of circumstances.
