Trends in the development of world trade over the past 20-25 years have been identified. The influence of the most important world events on its dynamics (the creation of the WTO, the crisis of 2008-2009, the Covid-19 pandemic) is revealed. The dynamics of export-import operations of the leading countries of the world has been studied and its dependence on the imposed restrictions designed to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic has been established. The different effects of COVID-19 on trade in goods and services are statistically illustrated. It is established that in 2021, the recovery of consumption led to an increase in demand and the intensification of world trade after the crisis in 2020. The lifting of some restrictions in Europe and the United States of America was accompanied by a significant increase in imports from Asian countries. The recovery of global demand and the need for companies to replenish their stocks to meet this demand increased the volume of international trade, contributed to the intensification of international transportation. The participation of various countries in export-import operations is investigated.
